June 3, 2020 - Update

During this pandemic, it is essential that we communicate in an efficient and timely manner with our families. We are almost into our 14th week and we are happy to share that we do not have any reported cases of COVID-19 on our campus.  We continue to #holdtheline to make sure this monster stays out of our building.

West View Healthy Living is committed to the safety and well being of our staff, our residents and their families.  We continue to maximize our disinfecting precautions to keep COVID-19 out of our building.

In an effort to keep our families and friends updated, I would like to share a few things with you.

On June 1st, the Governor shared new guidelines for visiting Assisted Living Facilities.  West View has begun this new process.

All individuals inside the vehicle will be screened through a series of questions.  Everyone will be required to bring their own mask and wear it during the visit.  We will also need to verify ID’s for everyone in the vehicle prior to the visit.

In addition, we will now be required to take temperatures of all individuals in the vehicle.  If anyone in the vehicle does not meet the criteria during screening, the visit will not be permitted. Please remember that all visitors must always remain in the vehicle.  Please arrive at least 15 minutes early, to accommodate for this screening process.  We need to ensure that we have plenty of time and we do not want it to interfere with your visit.  Due to timing constraints, we ask that you limit the number of people visiting to 4 individuals.

Due to the number of requested visits, we are limiting each family to one visit per week.

Our Residents in Nursing will have a different process.  Effective Friday, June 5th, all visits will take place inside our vestibule.  Visitors will complete the same screening process as previously mentioned, however, our Nursing Residents will not be permitted to go outside during the visit.  Visitors will drive up to the front door for screening.  Once completed, 4 visitors will be escorted to the vestibule area to visit with their family member.

Please know that we realize how hard this may be for you and your family.  Trust us, it is hard on us too.  I want you to remember that we are doing this for our residents and for YOU.  We are beginning our 14th week and we will do whatever it takes to keep #holdingtheline and ensure that COVID-19 doesn’t enter our building.

Again, we know this is a difficult time for everyone, but we need you to please understand our position.  We are trying to make sure that everyone stays safe and healthy.  Please refer to our website for previous updates.

We are in this together!
